Description

A solid sterling silver keepsake modelled as a single Rolo chocolate, with the tapered cylindrical form of the sweet and a smooth high polish finish to the sides. The top surface has a recessed circular form with concentric ring detail at the centre.

The hallmarks are struck in a row to the lower edge of the side wall, confirmed for sterling silver at the Sheffield Assay Office in 2003. The piece was manufactured under licence by C. W. Sellors, the Sheffield based goldsmiths and silversmiths known for quality British silverware.

The Rolo advertising campaign ran for more than 20 years from 1980, built around a single question: "Do you love anyone enough to give them your last Rolo?" The slogan turned the final chocolate in a packet into a small act of devotion. This piece takes that idea and makes it permanent - a last Rolo that cannot be eaten, only given.

Supplied in the original red "My last Rolo" cylindrical presentation box with polka dot ribbon decoration.

Condition

Very good condition with only minimal signs of handling. The original box is present and has minor surface wear consistent with age and storage.
