Description

A 9ct gold cocktail ring centred on a large lab grown spinel in an acid green tone, emerald cut and weighing approximately 13 carats. Lab grown spinel has the same physical and optical properties as natural spinel and tests as spinel with lab equipment. The stone exhibits green fluorescence under UV light.

The stone is held by four claws and raised above an open work decorative mount with triangular cut edges, giving the head a sculptural quality typical of 1960s cocktail jewellery. The shoulders are divided into four bands as they meet the head, with the main shank running as a plain band below.

Inside the band is an older style English 9ct gold mark together with the maker's initials E.T.+.

Condition

Very good for the period. Some very slight surface wear and tiny nibbles along the girdle edge of the stone. Professionally cleaned and polished, ready to wear or gift.
