Description

The square head measures 14.57mm x 14.93mm and is divided between a plain polished half and a half engraved with scroll detail - a classic combination that gives the ring interest without being overtly decorative. The shoulders are broad and taper down to a standard band width of 3.7mm, the underside of both the shoulders and the head are solid rather than hollow, which accounts for the ring's satisfying weight of 8.91 grams and gives it a quality that is immediately apparent when handled.

Hallmarked to the interior of the band at the Birmingham assay office using the international convention mark, which dates the piece to the 1980s. The maker's mark reads GJ.
