Description

The ring is dominated by a generously proportioned oval smoky quartz of approximately 14.5 carats, facet cut to display the stone's warm smoky brown colour with attractive hints of bronze in certain lights. The stone is held in an open basket mount, raised above the finger to allow light to pass freely through the gem and maximise its natural depth of colour.

The plain band is punctuated by two neat notches at the shoulders, adding a subtle decorative detail without detracting from the stone. Inside the band, a full hallmark from the London Assay Office confirms manufacture in 1968, with the maker's initials RJ. The ring will be supplied in a brand new presentation gift box.

Condition

The stone is in particularly good condition for its period, with minimal signs of wear. The gold shows only very minor signs of use. A fine example, professionally cleaned and polished, and ready to wear or gift.
