Description

A stylish vintage amethyst ring in 9ct gold, with a textured modernist design typical of the mid 1970s.

The oval faceted amethyst has a soft lilac tone and is set within a toothed bezel style mount, giving the stone a decorative frame. Around it, the goldwork has an organic, branching style, with openwork shoulders and a textured surface that catches the light beautifully.

The exterior of the band is also textured, continuing the design around the sides of the ring before tapering into a comfortable plain band. The result is a ring with plenty of period character, more individual than a traditional claw set amethyst dress ring.

Inside the band is a Birmingham hallmark for 1975, along with the maker’s mark REP.
