Description
An interesting vintage 9ct gold ring. It is set with an intense green stone which is a soude sur spinelle emerald. This is a triplet stone with the crown and pavilion in lab created spinel sandwiching usually a sintered glass panel. As the name suggests they were intended to mimic an emerald and you can even see small inclusions under the microscope. An emerald this size, colour and clarity would of course be very expensive hence why these stones were created. Inside the band it has a 9ct mark for 9 carat gold in the older form and the ring likely dates from the 1970's. The stone is very attractive in good light.

Condition: Gold in very good order with little wear. There is a flake chip to the one of the edge facets approx 1.61mm x 2.05mm which is just visible to the eye but won't be noticed for normal use. Professionally cleaned and polished ready to wear.
