Description
A vintage 9ct gold ring with a large oval facet cut blue spinel. Blue spinels were popular at this time for mimicking aquamarines and this example is a nice watery blue colour. The spinel is lab grown.
Lab grown stones are identical to natural gems and test the same but they are generally free of impurities and faults unlike mined stones. As they are created in a lab they do not have the environment issues of mined stones or have the worry of social problems making them an increasingly popular choice.
The stone is approx. 3.75 carats. The gem is set in a basket mount and the shoulders are trifurcated. Inside the band it has a Birmingham hallmark for 9ct gold with the date letter for 1968.
The ring will be supplied in a brand new presentation box.
