Description

At 8.17 grams this is a ring of exceptional substance for its type. The weight is immediately apparent on the hand.

The head is formed from a textured petal arrangement surrounding the pearl, the surface treatment giving the gold a depth that plain polished gold would not. The shoulders carry leaf forms, and the outer shoulder bands are modelled as bamboo sections - a naturalistic detail that sits in deliberate tension with the brutalist character of the head. The lower band is plain. Inside the shoulders: a London hallmark with date letter for 1972.
