Description
A vintage 9ct gold ring set with a lab created orange/yellow sapphire. The gem is somewhat unusual in being flat square cut with canted edges. There are no makers mark and just an indistinct mark inside the band. The gold tests as 9 carat. The style suggests a date of the 1960's or 1970's which was also a period when these lab grown gems were very popular.
Lab grown stones are identical to natural gems and test the same but they are generally free of impurities and faults unlike mined stones. As they are created in a lab they do not have the environment issues of mined stones or have the worry of social problems making them an increasingly popular choice.
The ring will be supplied in a brand new presentation gift box.
