A boxed vintage Cross Medalist three piece writing set in polished chrome with gold tone trim, comprising two Century II pens, a Classic Century ballpoint and the original fitted case.

Description

This vintage Cross writing set is presented in its original fitted case and is documented by paperwork dated 11 November 1997.

The set combines two Century II instruments with a slimmer Classic Century ballpoint, all finished in bright polished chrome with contrasting gold tone fittings.

The Century II fountain pen has a broader profile, black grip section and decorative gold tone Cross nib. An original Cross ink converter and one Cross ink cartridge are included.

The second Century II instrument is fitted as a porous fine point pen, using the interchangeable refill system associated with this model.

Completing the set is a Classic Century ballpoint, recognisable by its considerably slimmer profile and traditional Cross twist action mechanism.

All three instruments carry CROSS branding to the pocket clips and are marked CROSS IRELAND around the upper sections.

The original fitted green Cross presentation case is included with its instruction leaflet. The leaflet bears a dealer stamp recording the original sale on 11 November 1997 by The Pen Shop, 199 Regent Street, London W1R 7WA.

Also included are two spare Cross ballpoint refills, an ink converter and one original Cross ink cartridge.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with only light surface wear from normal handling and use. All three instruments present cleanly and the mechanisms are working correctly.

The presentation case is also in good condition with minor age related wear. The spare refills and cartridge are included as period accessories; their remaining ink condition is not guaranteed.
