Description
A vintage Egyptian necklace. It features five faience pottery scarab beetles in a turquoise blue glaze. These appear to have symbols to the underside, possibly birds. The mounts have wire formed details and are open beneath. There are two silver ancient Egyptian style lotus flower charms. The necklace likely dates to the early 20th century Egyptian revival period. There are Arabic type marks stamped to various parts, however they are not clear enough to decipher. The metal tests as silver around the .800 standard which is commonly used in Egypt. It is interesting to note that the scarabs are of varying size and are asymmetrically set around the chain. The necklace closes with a simple hook and loop.

Condition: Generally good with some minor period wear. Some crazing to the glaze of the scarabs. It is an artisan hand made piece, not a factory perfect item.
