Description

A vintage Gucci sterling silver wide band ring with a particularly decorative take on the house GG logo.

The exterior is set at intervals with interlocking G letters formed from raised rope twist silver wire. Matching twisted borders run around both edges of the band, standing slightly proud of the main surface and giving the ring texture and depth.

The recessed areas around each GG have been intentionally oxidised, darkening the ground so the polished rope work stands out sharply against it.

Inside the band it is clearly marked ® GUCCI made in Italy together with Ag925. The Italian registration mark is *1695 MI, identifying manufacture in the Milan assay district. The ring also carries Swiss control marks for sterling silver, suggesting it was originally supplied through Switzerland.

The broad band and size T suit either a man's or a woman's hand.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with light age related surface wear. The darker finish behind the GG logos is intentional oxidation and forms part of the design.
