A vintage Italian sterling silver novelty keyring modelled as a footballer with a gilt finished football, suspended beneath a broad spring clip.

Description

This well made vintage sterling silver keyring is modelled as a three dimensional footballer suspended beneath a large spring clip.

The figure is shown in motion with one leg raised beneath a separately modelled football, which has a contrasting gilt finish and engraved panel detail. The footballer's shirt carries the number 9 to the reverse, traditionally associated with the centre forward position.

The keyring is fitted with a broad hinged spring clip which can be opened for attaching keys or fixing to a belt loop, bag or similar fitting. The clip is stamped 925 together with the Italian registered maker's mark *184 NA, with NA indicating registration in the province of Naples.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with very light period wear. The spring clip opens and closes correctly, and the suspended figure moves freely.
