Description

The brooch is cast in gold-tone metal in the form of a turtle, with the shell worked in golden brown enamel set with orange rhinestone crystals. The eyes are green enamel with a metallic finish. To the reverse, a safety roll-over catch and the Joan Rivers signature mark. It retains its original black Joan Rivers presentation box.

Joan Rivers launched her jewellery line in 1990 on QVC, becoming one of the channel's most successful sellers and building a devoted collector following. Her pieces are characterised by bold, theatrical design - drawing on her love of the grand couture jewels worn by Hollywood's golden age stars and translating that aesthetic into accessible costume pieces.
