Description

A vintage sterling silver goblet.  The goblet was produced to celebrate the 900th year of Lincoln Cathedral (In 1972).  It was made by A E Jones and retailed by W Mansell of Silver Street, Lincoln.  The production run was limited to just 900 pieces and the numbering convention ran from 1072 to 1972 to match the years of the Cathedrals existence. 
 
The goblet was based on a design found in Bishop Gravesend's tomb in the Cathedral.  It comes with the original hard shell box and the original certificate signed by the then Dean of Lincoln. 
 
 
Condition

 

Goblet in excellent condition for period. Certificate has a bit of discolouration.  Case has wear and fading with some foxing to the lining material.
