Description

A vintage Mexican sterling silver necklace made from a continuous sequence of articulated rectangular links. Each link is finished with a dark green Greek key design inlaid into the silver, the repeated geometric pattern running around the full length of the necklace and giving the piece a distinctly mid century Mexican character.

The links are joined with small articulated connections, allowing the necklace to sit closely around the neck while retaining a firm, structured line. Polished silver borders frame the inlaid decoration, with the alternating dark green and silver. The necklace fastens with a concealed box style clasp.

To the underside of one link the necklace is stamped 925 TA-81 Mexico. The 925 mark identifies sterling silver, while TA-81 is the additional mark recorded alongside the Mexican origin stamp.

Condition

Good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The inlaid decoration is present throughout and the articulated links appear intact.
