Description
A heavy vintage Mexican sterling silver ring with a substantial, chunky character. The natural turquoise stone is held between raised grooved silver rails rather than a conventional bezel, giving the head a bold architectural quality. The band tapers from 4.5mm at the shank to 11.4mm at the shoulders, and the construction is solid under the head and through the shoulders - there is no hollow section, which accounts for the significant weight of 16.26 grams.
Inside the band the ring is marked MEX 925 MB-63, confirming Mexican origin and sterling silver content.
Condition
Good order with some very minor wear consistent with previous use. The turquoise is intact and the silver presents well.
