A beautifully made sterling silver wine goblet produced to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, 1952-1977. Hallmarked, & maker marked by AT Cannon Ltd, with a gilded interior bowl and original hard sided presentation case - a fine piece of British royal commemorative silverware.
Description
One face of the goblet bears a finely engraved royal crest with the Royal Standard flag and crown above, inscribed 'The Queen's Silver Jubilee 1952 - 1977'. The reverse carries the special Silver Jubilee hallmarks, including the portrait head of the Queen - a feature unique to silver assayed during the Jubilee year and sought after by collectors of royal commemorative silver. The interior of the bowl is gilded, making the goblet fully suitable for use with wine should you wish to use it.
Made by AT Cannon Ltd, a well-regarded British silversmith, and fully hallmarked. The goblet comes in its original hard-sided presentation case with velvet and satin interior and a gilt crest to the exterior - a rare survival in this condition.
Condition
Goblet in fine condition with minimal wear. Presentation case shows age-related fading and wear to the exterior, consistent with its age - the interior remains clean and intact.
