A vintage Siamese sterling silver bracelet formed from twelve linked panels, combining traditional dancers, black niello decoration and open fretwork, with a sprung clasp.

Description

Twelve silver panels carry a repeating arrangement of traditional dancers and decorative detail, with cut out fretwork opening the design between the solid surfaces. At 2.5cm wide, the bracelet forms a broad band around the wrist, articulated by the links between each panel.

The dark niello decoration contrasts with the reflective silver. As the panels catch the light, their appearance shifts from deep black to bright, almost white reflections, bringing movement to the repeating figures.

The sprung clasp is marked “Siam Sterling”, identifying the bracelet with the silverwork tradition of Thailand, historically known as Siam. Its overall length is approximately 18.8cm, with a wrist fit of up to 17cm.
