Description

The top face of the bangle is bright cut with a leaf design set against a textured ground, the decoration spilling into the edges of the otherwise plain underside. The bangle is hollow but of substantial section, giving it a reassuring solidity on the wrist.

The opening mechanism is the piece's most distinctive feature: a built in sliding strap extends as the bangle hinges open, allowing it to pass over the wrist before closing securely. The strap is stamped with patent number 897224 and marked Made In England. Hallmarks are struck to the interior: a sterling silver mark with date letter for 1972 and the maker's mark EJC.

Condition

Good order with minor period wear. Light surface scratches consistent with age. Hinge and clasp working correctly.
