Description

A vintage sterling silver money clip, hallmarked for Birmingham 1984.

The money clip has a curved rectangular form, with a textured grid pattern to the front. The design features enlarged hallmark stamps, including the initials SJR, Birmingham anchor, date letter and lion passant, giving the piece a distinctive design.

The reverse is polished and has a cut-out section to help remove the folded notes. Money clips make ideal men’s gifts.

The maker’s mark is for S J Rose & Son. S J Rose was established by Stephen J. Rose in 1928 and became S J Rose & Son in 1936, later operating as S J Rose & Sons Ltd. The firm was known as a manufacturing goldsmith, silversmith and jeweller, producing a range of small silver goods through the 20th century.

Good vintage condition with light age related surface wear.
