Description
A graceful antique ruby and diamond ring in 18ct yellow gold, dating to around the turn of the 20th century.
The ring is set with five natural gemstones in an alternating arrangement of diamonds and rubies. A central diamond sits at the heart of the design, flanked by two rich red rubies and smaller diamonds to the outer sides. The stones are set across a decorative pierced mount, allowing light through the gallery and giving the ring a bright, refined appearance.
The warm yellow gold pairs beautifully with the rubies and diamonds, creating a traditional colour combination that has remained desirable for well over a century. The scale is elegant and wearable, making it suitable as an antique dress ring, anniversary ring or special everyday jewel.
Inside the band is a Birmingham hallmark for 18ct gold, with some wear to the mark as expected for age.
Ruby and diamond five stone rings were especially popular around the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, often chosen for their balance of colour, sparkle and symbolic appeal. This example has a timeless look, with just enough detail in the mount to give it period character while remaining easy to wear.
The ring will be supplied in a brand new presentation box.
Condition
Good antique condition for age. There is some wear to the hallmark inside the band and some tiny surface air bubbles in the gold from production. Stones are good overall and the ring remains a very attractive piece. Professionally cleaned and polished, ready to wear or gift.
