Description
An early Victorian delightful gold brooch set with a central split pearl. The brooch is of round form with a double beaded rim. It also has beautifully executed blue enamel set over a textured base giving detail when viewed under magnification. The back of the brooch is open and it has a hand made tube hinge and simple hook catch. Given the period the pearl will be natural as cultured pearls were not available when this was produced. There are no marks or makers details but the metal tests as 22 carat gold.

Condition: Remarkably good for age. Pearl and enamel in very good order. Slight wear / scratches to the gold. Hinge and pin working fine.
