Description

This antique double Albert chain is formed from substantial sterling silver curb links in the traditional style and dates to the George V period. The two lengths meet at a central T bar fitting, while the links measure approximately 7 mm across and carry individual lion passant marks.

One end terminates in a watch hook and the other in a circular jump ring. This arrangement was intended to be worn across a waistcoat, with a pocket watch attached at one side and a second accessory, fob or key at the other.

The central T bar is struck with a British hallmark for 1912 and an indistinct maker's mark which appears to read GLG. It measures approximately 3.6 cm across. At 47 cm overall, the chain can also be worn around the neck as a short necklace, with its original watch chain fittings retained.

Condition

Good antique condition with surface wear and light marks consistent with age and use. The lion passant marks to the links show wear as expected. The watch hook and jump ring are secure. All components appear original to the chain.
