Description

An elegant Art Deco ring with a particularly feminine profile, dating to around the 1930s. The centre is set with a small round natural moss agate cabochon, polished to a smooth domed surface and showing fine green branching inclusions within a translucent body.

The stone is held in a simple silver bezel, with tapered silver shoulders set with small clear paste stones, three to each side. The contrast between the cool silver upper section and the warm rose gold band is typical of jewellery from the period, where mixed metals were used to achieve a deliberate contrast of colour and tone.

The band is made in 9ct rose gold and is marked inside 9CT SIL, a typically British mark denoting the mixed metal combination and used pre-WW2. The restrained geometric form, narrow shoulders and low setting give the ring a clear Art Deco character while keeping it very wearable.

The moss agate has been tested as natural.
