Description

Ortak is an Orkney-based silversmith with a long tradition of producing distinctive Scottish jewellery, Malcolm Gray's work characterised was by clean geometric forms and the considered use of enamel colour. The Oasis collection sits within that tradition: the pendant is worked with cut-out detail that gives it a lightness, and the enamel is applied to the front face, its colour contrasting with the polished silver surround.

The reverse carries textured detail - a finishing touch that distinguishes a well-made piece from a purely functional one - along with the 925 mark for sterling silver and the MG initial mark for Malcolm Gray. The pendant comes on a good quality box trace chain with a standard spring ring closure.
