Description

A Royal Doulton model of an English Foxhound standing alert with its tail raised. The dog is hand decorated in white, black and russet colouring, with carefully painted facial features and shaded markings across the coat. The naturalistic modelling captures the breed's long legged stance and lean working dog form.

Designed by animal artist Frederick Daws, HN1026 is the medium version of Ch. Tring Rattler. The model was produced from 1931 until 1960. The underside bears the Royal Doulton factory backstamp and the hand-painted model number HN1026.

Condition

Good vintage condition. There are three tiny white manufacturing glaze flaws on one flank.
