Description

A pair of vintage 9ct yellow gold hoop earrings by Unoaerre. Each circular hoop is decorated with an angular rope twist pattern that catches the light across its polished surface. The earrings have hinged lever fittings, the curved posts closing into catches on the opposite side of each hoop.

One side of each lever carries the Unoaerre name and Italian assay marks. The other side has Birmingham international convention hallmarks confirming 9ct gold.

Unoaerre was founded in Arezzo, Italy, in 1926 by Carlo Zucchi and Leopoldo Gori. Its name developed from the Italian maker's registration number 1AR - "uno a erre" - and the company became particularly well known for its Italian gold chains and jewellery. These earrings carry the 1AR mark to the levers.

Condition

Good vintage condition with only light signs of previous wear. The hinged lever fittings close securely.
