Summary

A vintage 9ct gold saxophone brooch with a curved bell, long neck and raised keywork, fitted with a hinged pin and rollover safety catch.

Description

The saxophone is modelled in three dimensions, with its flared bell curving upwards beside the long central body. Raised keywork runs towards the curved neck and mouthpiece, while the polished gold surfaces follow the rounded form of the instrument.

A hinged pin and rollover safety catch are fitted to the reverse. The pin carries the sponsor's mark A&Co together with a Sheffield import hallmark, the 375 fineness mark for 9ct gold and the date letter for 1991.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with only light surface wear. The pin and rollover safety catch operate correctly.
