A vintage sterling silver bracelet made in Hong Kong, the panel links each set with a black onyx round bearing raised Chinese characters in silver.

Description

The bracelet is built from a series of round links, each one set with a black onyx disc into which Chinese characters have been worked in raised silver - good luck symbols with the Fu character among them. The contrast between the deep black stone and the bright silver lettering gives the piece a graphic quality that reads well on the wrist. The sliding clasp is marked to its underside: Sterling Silver Made in HK. The piece dates to the 1960s or 1970s, a period when Hong Kong silverwork of this kind was made to a consistently high standard.
