Description

A vintage handmade sterling silver bangle formed from two parallel wire sections on each arm, curling into scrolled terminals at the open ends and meeting around a large central amethyst setting. 

The amethyst is a high domed polished cabochon, large at approximately 30 carats, with a deep violet centre that shifts through lighter purple and near-colourless zones toward the edges. The colour zoning and visible internal features are characteristic of natural amethyst.

The reverse of the bezel carries a Polish 925 silver hallmark from Gdańsk, with additional marks struck to the inner edge of the bangle arm. The piece is typical of late 20th century Polish artisan silver - made around the individual stone, not to a template.

Amethyst is the birthstone for February.

Condition

Good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The amethyst is secure in the setting and the bangle is ready to wear or gift.
