Description

A vintage sterling silver cuff bangle formed from a hand rolled strip of silver. The outer surface carries a hand engraved geometric design running the full length of the band: repeating four-pointed star shapes linked by curved lines, with fine hatched engraving filling the ground within the pattern, all contained between two parallel border lines. The engraving has darkened slightly with age, which gives the pattern good contrast and definition.

To the inside the bangle is stamped with a small pictorial maker's mark - consistent with an eagle or bird assay mark of the type commonly used on Mexican and South American sterling silver - followed by STERLING.

The open cuff form permits a limited degree of adjustment by careful manipulation. Repeated bending should be avoided. The bangle is presently shaped to fit a wrist of approximately 17cm.

Good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use.
